Weston Village Townswomen's Guild

Weston Village Townswomen's Guild meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Moravian Church Hall at 7.30pm, and is always keen to welcome new members of all ages.

The Guild offers a variety of activities and outings and new members would be invited to join in pursuits such as drama, choir, gardening, needlework, craft, bridge, scrabble, local history, skittles, topical discussion and walking.

Subscription is currently £23.00 and is payable annually in March (or on joining). Anyone interested in membership is invited to attend a Guild meeting, initially as a guest. This then gives the individual the opportunity to gain an insight into group activities and therefore helps in making a decision on enrolment.

Townswomen are encouraged to share ideas and views, develop new skills, challenge issues of importance, support each other and HAVE FUN!

More information may be obtained from the Secretary - Jan Lance on 01225 858474, or the Chairman - Pat Aveyard on 01225 429953.

News

Another fun packed year of fund raising by Weston Village TG has culminated with cheques for £1500 each being presented to the Genesis Trust, Friends of the RUH Garden Group and the Biopedance Machine at the RUH.

For many years the Guild has supported local charities, nominated by its members, and have donated tens of thousands of pounds to numerous worthy causes.

Charities chosen for 2012 are Bath and Warminster MS Societies (which includes the therapy centre), RICE (Research Into the Care of the Elderly) and the RUH CT/Gamma Scanner Appeal.

Everyone at Guild will be working hard throughout the coming year to raise money for these deserving causes.

Our first fundraiser was the annual Christmas Fayre which raised the magnificent sum of £1714.09.

Weston Village TG would like to thank everyone who supported our fayre and look forward to see many of you at our annual Christmas Carol Service which takes place at the Moravian Church on Thursday 15 December at 7.30pm.
